Are you suffering from a hearing loss problem and would like to get a hearing assessment? The hearing care professionals at Audiology Clinic offer hearing tests for both children and adults.
What To Expect on Your First Visit
We always begin with a conversation regarding your concerns, your medical history and a discussion regarding your ears and any apparent hearing loss. After your hearing history, our hearing care professionals will inspect your ears for ear wax (also known as cerumen) and for any foreign objects that might be blocking your ear canals which may lead to conductive hearing loss or signs of damage to your eardrum(s), infection or other abnormalities. If necessary, we will refer you to a medical doctor, most likely your primary care or an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist, for treatment. Your hearing assessment results may be recorded on an Audiogram. Audiology Clinic has several ways to assess your hearing – and our team will explain every step of the way, as well as the results.
Assessing hearing loss
Most hearing loss is not due to damage or physical issues, but damage to the hairs on your inner ear caused by noise exposure. This hearing loss, called sensorineural loss, is often treated by hearing aids.
